Arne Slot provides an update on Joe Gomez’s fitness after he suffered an injury that forced him off early in Liverpool’s 1-0 FA Cup defeat at Plymouth Argyle.

Slot said Gomez was unsure about the injury and feared it would get worse if he continued to play, but it remains unclear whether it was the same injury.

“I’m not sure yet and I don’t know if it’s the same leg because I haven’t had a chance to ask him,” Slot said

. “It was clear he was unsure at the time because we saw he wasn’t running back at full speed and he said, ‘I’m not 100 per cent sure and I’m afraid if I run full speed again it might get worse.’ “

I don’t think it’s a torn muscle but he’s not feeling well which is bad news for us. Curtis Jones was on the bench but he came in this morning and said, ‘I’m not fully recovered’ after training yesterday. หากคุณสนใจเล่นพนันออนไลน์ที่ดีที่สุด สามารถสมัครสมาชิก UFABET ได้ที่นี่ พร้อมรับโปรโมชั่นพิเศษสำหรับสมาชิกใหม่ “It made us have to play more young players than we thought before the game.”

Gomez was replaced by young right-back Isaac Mabaya, who has just returned from injury problems that have plagued him throughout the year. The 20-year-old is the fourth youngster to make his debut under Slot’s tutelage. The substitution

saw James McConnell move into midfield, while Wataru Endo dropped back to centre-back alongside Jarrell Quansah.

Slot decided to rest a number of key players, including Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai and Ibrahima Konate, to give them a full rest ahead of the crucial game against Everton.
