Packed and weighed…and packed some more…
John sighed and wondered how in heavens name will all this fit…but it did…after some time of thinking and replacing some suitcases… But it was a full car!! :)

And off to Long Beach and the International Quilt Festival…

Stayed at the Rodeway Inn… Nice and clean…just perfect…
John left us for a visit at his brother…and we went on the Preview Night…but first a stop at Subway
Really good sandwiches…and just on the other side of the hotel…. 😉 suited us fine…because we were on a mission…quilt mission!!

The International Quilt Festival was held at Long Beach Convention Center…just a nice walk from the hotel…lots of quilters…some having classes and some just waiting for the opening…like us!

We walked around for hours and browsed all the isles strategical …and shopped..oh yes we did…again… But having in mind for everything to fit in the suitcases…

Was actually a little bit disappointed….wasn't so many shops having brights and lighter fabrics…was lots of country colours … Lots of shops had Kaffe Fasset fabrics…so a lot of those were bought…

Have to gather up all my Long Beach treasures and take a photo of them all…will do that in another post!

Stayed to closing time and walked to the hotel room…took a glass of wineweighed the fabrics we had bought…and thought…YES…we can shop more tomorrow!! 😉

After lunch …refilled with energy we went to Victoria Secret…and that my dears…was an experience…a very good experience… Two bags filled for me to take home…NICE!!!

Packing day as well… A LOT of weighing of suitcases…trying to figure out the best solution…because we still had some shopping to do at the Quilt Show in Long Beach… :)

Since I hadn't had an American Burger Chris and Karin decided on barbecue this night too…and more Margaritas….this time no added alcohol… 😉 oh…how I miss the Jose Cuervo mixes… Can't find them in Sweden and that is TOO BAD!!

This day we went to Riverside to visit Johns sister Debbie and to see a little from their old hometown
It was fun to see…trying to imagine how it had looked when they lived there…their house had changed a lot since they moved.

Had lunch at Simple Simons… with Debbie and Andrew… And again we had a lovely sandwich… BLATT… :) think America is the King of Sandwiches…LOVE THEM!!!

Went to a shop near Simple Simons …Mrs Tiggy Winkles Gift Shoppe…. a really fun little shop filled with lots of fun things… Louise was amazed that the shop owner recognised her!!!

Couldn't resist this bag…so it had to come with me!!

Visited some friends of Louise and John that afternoon…even got to see a home of another quilter… Gayle Cloud…forgot to take photos … Bad blogger this girl…sorry!!! 😉

Back to Upland, Ontario we found a newly open quilt shop The Country Loft… A really lovely little shop…nice selection of bright fabrics… Not that many bolts…YET… but enough…. :) they just had been open for some weeks!!

Did we shop…. Yes we did….and this time we split our half yards in half….so we both got a pretty nice selection of brights… And Kaffe Fasset fabrics..so now I have started a new collection!!! 😉

At the evening we had a really calm, nice and fun evening at Karin and Chris…we barbecued (chicken and white sweet corn) at the front lawn and had the most delicious Margaritas… YUMMY… 😉 … But strong… Oh my… 😉

And that we got a confession of in the morning…. Karin hadn't realised the mix already had alcohol in it…so she added to that…lol…

We had a really lovely evening…warm and sweet…relaxed and fun with lovely company…and excitement with a police helicopter cycling over the neighbourhood …lots of times…so something wasn't quite right…but we didn't see or hear anything… :)

Thankyou…
