Can’t help it…love swapping blocks with my friends… this time a basket swap with Louise. Sent my starter blocks to Louise earlier this year and just briefly mentioned this in a catching up post a while ago…not quite ok ..right :) thought so…it deserves a blog post of its own!

Here is my two blocks sent to Louise… with a note for her to use the colours I like :) sort of the ones used in the blocks… :) no other rules.

Will redo the handles on my blocks…do them properly and applique them by hand… hadn’t expected that clever Louise would add her touch to the blocks she sent …this is what she sent me … :)

How brilliant wasn’t her idea…little appliquéd flowers in one of the baskets…wow…gorgeous idea…fell in love with it instantly ! So of course the handles needs to be hand sewn instead of machine appliqued… 😉

Isn’t they just marvellous…my four blocks to the left ( top two made for me by Louise) and Louises starter blocks to the right (top and bottom)…those she sent for me so I would know what to sew for her. This will be such an “easy” quilt to sew… hardly knows which ones are mine or hers… 😉 ( in fact when sewing yesterday I had to go back and see what Louise had posted on her Instagram feed to see which ones she owned…lol )

Yesterday’s sewing was so much fun..I really love to applique…but with everything that have been happening…I just put it aside…and well…yesterday’s sewing was like finding one more puzzle piece to add to my life puzzle. So happy :)

Appliquéd one little flower …. no plan whatever…found a little flower I liked and added the purple piece as background and a little stem…a bit quirky and that’s how I like it…

And I also made one without a flower..but added a bit of interest to the basket instead… liked that..so Louise…go ahead..do your magic on my next blocks… :)

And here are Louise’s blocks so far together … I really LOVE them… can’t wait to see how our quilts will turn out..it’s so exciting and can’t wait to see how next blocks will look like… Had a bit of trouble sending them off… they wanted to stay here 😉

Fun fun fun… :)

And Louise is this months Queen Bee so I sent her blocks along with the baskets…

A classic and traditional Crown and Thorne block… will look amazing in just blue and white!

Now to something new… pattern testing… :)

I love walking around at Louise’s house…Where I find beauty everywhere…she has quilts all around the house… some of them new some of them good old favourites…

A basket quilt in happy Me and My sister fabrics…a Leanne House quilt in pretty pinks and greens …a pink star quilt and a dreamy shirt quilt in pinks and blues…

A quilt made by me made from a pattern by Cheri Saffiote Payne … I have a pink one at home made by Louise …that’s sisters love. We know what we like :)
Doll quilts rolled up for Olivia to use..or just to be pretty, a fun cat quilt and a Noah’s arc stitchery quilt from a pattern by Lynette Andersson and little mini spool blocks soon to be a quilt.

And I also got to see Louise’s finished Plus block quilt that Louise, Marica and I swapped blocks with each other two years ago..or maybe it’s even longer than that… which reminds me…I have my quilt to finish… 😉

It’s a masterpiece if I might say :) … love the variety in the blocks…and wow…all the friendship blocks shared :) …seeing a block made by a friend and remembering which ones we made…that’s something special. You can read about the swap over here and also a tutorial on how to make the blocks here

Sadly my visit came to an end but I’m so happy I made this trip it made me realise I can do things again even if it made me tired…it gave me freedom and happiness. Thankyou Louise for having me a whole week!! And John too 😉 … promise it won’t be four years until the next time!

See you… I now have some charged batteries! :)

Life took a turn none of us in my family thought would come… In March my mum got both a cerebral and a heart infarct, looking back with all the circumstances happening..happy ones and a bit of luck and a strong mother it have gone beyond good.  After a week they sent her home, the medical staff amazed and they couldn’t believe the happy outcome, they didn’t think she would make it when she came in. So today we are all so grateful for having her back…up and about …almost as she was before the strokes.

Mum stayed with me for weeks getting back to health, alternating between my brother and me while they made changes to their home … so it would be easier for her.  It was so great seeing her progress from day to day… from not being able to write to do crosswords easily…no balance to walk the stairs…it was amazing. Couldn’t be happier than this.

In all this I’m so grateful for my family, we stood strong and united and all gathered supporting each other…thankful for my family, and the strength we all could give.

At Easter, next accident happened..my sweet black lab Molly hurt herself on something and needed surgery… once again we were lucky that we were on our way home from Arjeplog and happily the vet was available on the way home… distances are our nemesis up here in the north of Sweden. Beware of ugly pics!

After all that it was about to move place for me …I finally found a smaller flat… and I’m so happy that the move was the easiest one could have…just next door…I could move in my socks… 😉

Mum helped me pack and it gave her practise using her hands and arms..

The move went so smooth and I am now in my new flat… have been here a month and it have been a struggle with an inflammation in my neck and a total melt down with horrible headaches day and night … stress…yes for sure! Can’t handle stress anymore so it have just been to drop everything and just be…including having to see boxes of unpacked stuff!

Did sew before the move, knowing I wouldn’t have my sewing room in order for a while… so I’m happy I managed that!

Scandibee blocks made for Marica, Helene and Jackie…

Think I had my birthday too… 😉

Got beautiful gifts from friends and family, but all got forgotten with mums accident… you know who you are and you all know I LOVED every one of the gifts. So thankyou!

Started on new quilts and had the intention of making my own patterns…so that’s still to come..just need to get myself back on track…and I will… that I promise ! Temperature quilt, Do what you love, Basket blocks in a swap with Louise and my tulip quilt.

Started a quilt for my daughter Petra to have in her new makeup room… this quilt is now finished and shall have a blogpost of its own.

And hip hip hooray…Viktor turned 18 now in June…how now that even happened I don’t know…think it was just a while ago he was counting birthday wishes from different countries on my blog … 😉

That was an update from me with what’s been happening here in Stina land… back soon and big hugs to my readers out there!

See you soon…
