Fun fun fun!!
Think I liven up when it comes to sew for others…
It’s something special…
In progress
This time we Marica, Louise and I decided to sew a Quilt to Krista Hennebury
as a thankyou for coming to the North of Sweden…
and dare to stay with us in a cabin by the Pite Älv (Pite River)…
Louise’s specialty… Scrappy …no waste!
And since Krista sewed some blocks for me to use in my plus friends quilt…
Of course she needed one for herself..but a mini one…
And Marica being the “black sheep” sewing an odd block… 😉 think it’s brilliant…
So I sewed up a block to test and loved it …
Knew it would look perfect!!
We sewed ten blocks each
and I signed up to finished the quilt…
I even found a little poppy print to add as her blog is called
Poppyprintcreates…
All I can say is that this was very fun to make…
Will make a little tutorial for this one soon…
so stay tuned!!
Thought a long time on how to quilt it, but one morning it came to me …
that I needed to quilt the river as a memory for our cabin stay…
so I kind of planned the river…
laid out some threads just to see if it would work…
and yes… It worked!
Eyeballed my “river” and sewed…
Worked fine…but when sewing on the bias like this…
beware of stretching the quilt…
I got one wobbly side…just a little…
but that could be fixed with a little thread run in the seam allowance…
And also I also pinned the quilt to my design wall when a little damp after wash…
Continued the quilting with straight stitching…
Added a black and white binding to the quilt…
Must say I love this little quilt, think I need to make myself one too..
i think we did pretty good , don’t you think?
Sewing with friends are so much fun..
Now to to finish the large plus friends quilt… ;0)
Here you can see the river floating…
Now we were ready for Kristas arrival!
Gifts, the cabin, the food
A loooong wait but finally time had come…

Some lazy summer reading got me inspired to sew some bags…
Yes you heard me BAGS…
Needed some more organising in my “going-to-classes-equipment.”…
Since I gave away the ones I had…

I also needed a new colour scheme…more bright and more PINK… 😉

Upcoming class (more of this later) with the writer of this book “Make It, Take it”

by Krista Hennebury … Got me started…

I wanted to make a bag to hold my cutting mat and my rulers…
The Ultimate Equipment Tote by Berene Campbell
Rulers are always tricky to transport safe when going to classes,
so I thought I would give it a try…

And I had so much fun sewing this one…
Hooray a pocket… 😉

and even more proud of me actually finish it too…
because making bags have always turned my head into something mushy!!
Don't know why..I use to give up before even coming halfways!

And I love it…
The front of the tote
The back of the tote

Just need to do the last steps…
to plan the inner pocket for my rulers…
Inner pocket of tote

Guess I can't screw up with that… Or???

And I didn't stop with this bag…
I made another one from the book…
A bag pattern made by Ayumi Takahashi
Lots of fun and …yes another bag was made…
In just one day…
that have never happened in my world!!
I love this one too… :)

Used some fabrics from Cotton and Steel
and a pink dotty fabric I bought when travelling to the USA from JoAnns…
And now I finally found the right use for it…

And this didn't even stop me in my bag making…
but more of this in another blogpost!

The most amazing mail arrived this late summer…
From Pleasant Home… (Blog) Owner Jodi Nelson…(Instagram)
Pink magnetic 4″ Pin Bowl

Have been eyeing these magnetic Pin Bowls out for a long time
and now they actually stood on my doorstep…
Fast delivered and so well packed…

And when packing up it was a lot of oooh…. And ahhhh… :) :)
See for yourselves …

Isn't they gorgeous…
Had such a hard time choosing what colour,
because they come in a LOT of gorgeous colours …
Managed to narrow it down to a pink, grey and ocean blue colour scheme…
and I'm so pleased of how they look…
Jodi paints these and are now shipping all over the world…
and they are becoming quite popular…
have missed out on them several times.

And they work super duper…
Got my working space a little bit more organised…
and that is fantastic for a girl like me who always mislay all my stuff!!

Can't tell you how happy I am for these!!
Well done Jodi for such a great job on your clever little helpers!!

If you want some Ruler Pals for yourself…go here
And the Pin Bowls just recently got a new website
