The most amazing mail arrived this late summer…
From Pleasant Home… (Blog) Owner Jodi Nelson…(Instagram)
Pink magnetic 4″ Pin Bowl

Have been eyeing these magnetic Pin Bowls out for a long time
and now they actually stood on my doorstep…
Fast delivered and so well packed…

And when packing up it was a lot of oooh…. And ahhhh… :) :)
See for yourselves …

Isn't they gorgeous…
Had such a hard time choosing what colour,
because they come in a LOT of gorgeous colours …
Managed to narrow it down to a pink, grey and ocean blue colour scheme…
and I'm so pleased of how they look…
Jodi paints these and are now shipping all over the world…
and they are becoming quite popular…
have missed out on them several times.

And they work super duper…
Got my working space a little bit more organised…
and that is fantastic for a girl like me who always mislay all my stuff!!

Can't tell you how happy I am for these!!
Well done Jodi for such a great job on your clever little helpers!!

If you want some Ruler Pals for yourself…go here
And the Pin Bowls just recently got a new website

How I wish it was summer and warm again…
But it's just to face the fact that leaves are falling and winter is coming …
SIGH!

This summer offered cold and windy weather, mixed with splashes of rain…
So most of the warm summer days was spent outside…
and for me it included secret sewing…

Bought myself a nice PINK little box to organise my applique stuff…

I have been annoyed with myself always losing needles, scissors and thimbles…
so with this one..I do hope it's going to be better..

My secret sewing was a pattern by April Rosenthal
The Dahlia pattern…
I did sew this one on machine and it was not hard
but not the easiest either…but FUN… :)
I think it turned out just wonderful…

Had fun again..trying to fussy cut some pieces…
making new holes in my fabric.. 😉
When finished… I needed to decide on quilting…
always such a BIG decision for me…
don't know why it always makes me want to put quilts away!
But this little one needed circular quilting…
and I just love how it turned out…
and it just got finished in time for my trip to Birmingham this year
and to be gifted to my lovely friend Shirley Sherratt ….

Was to take a photo of the quilt in Birmingham…
but my memory slipped as always!!
See you soon… :)

Some quilts just talk to you at once…
and so did this quilt…
pattern is by Lucy Carson Kingwell…
and the quilt I'm talking about is
“Smitten”

I ordered templates for easier cutting and decided to machine piece
this one instead of hand piecing it…
just because I wanted to see if I could! And I did!

Early on I had envisioned this one with low volume fabrics…
so it was an easy choice to start…
and I was intrigued by how fun it was to sew the blocks and to fussy cut them…
even if I had trouble at start with making holes in my fabrics!!

I just had to make another block and then another block…
trying different fabrics and colours…
Pure fun ….from start to a finished top…then it took stop…

Couldn't decide on how to quilt this one …
and put it aside for inspiration to struck…and are still waiting!
Guess it will come…it usually does!

In the mean time I can enjoy looking at my top! 😉
