Full packed day with meetings, shopping and lots of looking!!

Really don't know where to start…
So I'm just going to post some collages from the day…

There were lots of shops…
Had my favourites from last year that I just had to visit…
one of them was the Worn and Washed fabrics shop…
Had a mission to buy some bundles for Louise

And then it was the Alice Caroline shop
where all the lovely Liberty fabrics were…
was good here..didn't even buy a tiny little piece… 😉

And the gorgeous Cotton Patch
With its colourful fabrics…
Did miss out on Kaffe Fassett, Brandon Mably and Stuart Hillard this year too…

At lunch time we had a date with Maree Watt all the way from Australia…
Maree and I have been blogging buddies for a VERY long time
and now we just hang out on Instagram…
It was so much fun meeting up with her…
Maree you were so LOVELY!!

Of course I did some lovely shopping too…
here I am at Simply Solids …found LOTS!!! 😉

And quilts …modern, traditional, colourful…
Quilts made by Jette Clover
Quilt made by Christine Chester
Stonefield quilt “Visitors Choice” winner made by Coriene de Haas and quilted by Kay Bell
all in a good mix all over the area…

Before going to bed…
I got the opportunity to see what Shirley was working on…
Her absolutely gorgeous “I Spy Bubbles” quilt… So lovely…
and also got to see her quilting progress on her “Trip Around The World” quilt…
Maybe it's finished next time we will meet??

This year we decided on one more day in Birmingham…
Last year we had to rush through the last day so no stress this year!
On Thursday we were able to meet Nina in our Scandibee…
and deliver our blocks for her in person…
It was great to meet and chat some…
At the Oakshott stand we got to see Krista Henneburys quilt
“Temperature Check”
and we got even more exited about the class “Improve under the influence”
that we were going to have with her in October…
(That we now have had..since I’m so late posting… 😉
This lovely bundle followed with me home…
And some more…

Made by my wonderful friend Shirley with the blog
(Click the link to read about her modern tree)
Shirley was one of my proof readers for this free pattern
(You can find the pattern at my sidebar or at my header..
or click the link above…)
When making this pattern I so wanted to make a background
with low volume fabrics…because I just love them…
but it wouldn’t work with a white tree… 😉
So I am so happy to see a tree made with these
warm low volume fabrics…and I must say …
I love it VERY much…
perfect in so many ways…
Gorgeous warm Christmassy colours
and look at her genius quilting…
Wood grain !
And combined with narrow straight stitching…
Looks fantastic!
Love the choice of binding too…pink stripes!!!
So Thankyou Shirley for sharing this tree with me today…
It gives me such pleasure to see how others interpreters the pattern
and make their own tree…
So…if anyone else out there is making this tree…
Please share…
It would make me very happy!!
What a happy day!
See you!!
