After a little hiccup time that our host…
Chase at Quarter Inch Mark had while she moved…
we are now back on track again with our mini blocks…
and I have missed them

So I was pretty eager to make these…
once the geese border was on my other quilt…

Week # 7 we were asked the question
City Mouse or Country Mouse?…

And for me it was pretty easy…to at least chose …
but we were to think what the city or the country stood for…
warm or cold

Hmmm..so this is my City Mouse block

A bit colder block…
just because of the city's non personality …
and lots of people and noisy…
So I did chose a grey for the asphalt
and found a “hello” fabric that will stand for all the people you meet…
Don't read me wrong…that I don't like cities…
I do love them…for a while… 😉

For the Country Mouse block

A bit warmer
I'm a farmers daughter you know….
love all animals and nature…I studied to be a farmer…
See how that did go…not a cow in sight here…lol…
but I have Molly… 😉

Digged through my fabrics …
knowing I ought to have some animal fabrics
and found these that will represent my country days …
and the simple life
where days comes and goes and flows with nature…
Added a bit green for green grass…and hay days…;)
lots of fun and not so fun memories when crop had to come in…

Ahhh.. That was fun…

See you…

Half ways into this little quilt along…
Next theme were to share a moment with me and my mom/dad

For some reason I always connect two colours
when thinking of my mother and my dad…
and those colours are blue and green
Not really sure what it stands for but I think it's
the love for the nature and all living things
My father have worked with the forest, and farming
My mother have always had a love for animals
so maybe it's one of the reasons…
also knowing that they do love those colours….

So what I did… Since we were to use two prints,
same hue but different tone..and scraps…
I found a blue green that had some small leaves on…
So it became a salut to all living things that we all hold very dear…
And a mix of blue and green… 😉
Block # 9
A moment with me and mom and dad…

And picture of my mom and my girls when little feeding a reindeer calf… :)

Block # 10
Were to share a moment with either kids/nieces/nephew/friends children…

And looking through the scrapbin…
I found a print with a bicycle on…
and this is definitely a moment I have both enjoyed and feared with all my kids…
to learn them to bike
All the laughter and all the crying and mending knees and elbows…
and to see the happiness when they bike on their own
that is happiness!!

Found some old photos from a biking trip we did with Petra and Linda
We biked around Siljan in Dalarna, Sweden
this was so much fun…both in sunshine and in pouring rain!!

And Viktor sure needed a little photo too…
didn't find one biking but bathing
and that sure is a lot of fun too… 😉

See you…

And Making them mine own…

Week # 4
This time Classical movie
So many to chose from…but I did chose Ivanhoe from 1952…
With Elizabeth Taylor, Robert Taylor and Joan Fontaine…
About the vanishing of Richard Lionheart and the Saxon Wilfred of Ivanhoes search for him…and his try to get the ransom to free Richard Lion heart… And the love to two beautiful women…Rebecca and Lady Rowena... :)

I watched this movie…every New Years Day when I was young…
Still being at our grandparents house celebrating Christmas…
And no talking about going home to our place before this movie!!
No way!! Sorry Dad!!
I did miss out on Lassie though…because we always had to go home that day!!

For the blocks we were to use two solids
This is my block # 7

I was inspired by the dress that Elizabeth Taylor wore in one of the scenes…

For block # 8 it was TV shows or talk shows…

And for this one I knew I had to chose …
Rich Man Poor Man
from 1976, with Nick Nolte, Peter Strauss and Falconetti…

I sat totally glued to the TV when this serie was on…
And to this day I haven't seen a rerun on this one…
Wonder how I would like it today…
Ahh.. Remembering how I was afraid of Falconetti… 😉
and probably had a crush on Nick Nolte… 😉

So this is my block # 8

I took fabrics that either could be lots of coins (circles=much money)
or coins ( zero=no money)…
We were to use complimentary colours

See you
