I have always wanted to make the Carry All pincushion
it is a pattern by Anna Graham from the blog Noodlehead..
And can be found in her book Handmade Style…which is a great book…
lots to make in that one! More Future projects… 😉
So when a secret pincushion swap was decided in Scandibee for Christmas
I decided to make it for my partner…
I absolutely LOVE how it turned out…
A clever one with pockets to fill with what you need!
I even was very tempted to keep it myself and sew her another…
but decide to send it … because it was made with her in mind.
Our Admin of the group…Ruth was my partner…
Can make another one…can’t I? 😉

So better get my acts together and make a blogpost then…
Well you that follow me on Instagram already knows this… 😉
I designed a Button Quilt earlier this year… Yes I did… :) I call it…
Små och Stora Knappar
(Small and Big Buttons)
and it all started with me making Button Up for Louise as a gift ….
You can see that quilt HERE
And then a friend of mine made that quilt…and it spread…
and all of a sudden more wanted to make that quilt…
so I contacted Allison and asked if I could have a Button Up class here in Sweden…
And she was so so sweet and said no problem…
I even asked if I could make it my own and change sizes and layout…and yes…
No problem… So how great wasn’t that… :)

Lots of tea needed… mug rug given to me by Synnove…
So now a very tough job started for me… If I had realised how it would affect me…
I would have thought this through more than a couple of times…
Don’t read me wrong here…
I enjoyed every single day and how the quilt turned out and all the fun too…
But I guess I wasn’t completely prepared of how stressed I would become…
but I did it… :)
See.. my socks match this time… 😉
Back to the designing part…
I didn’t want to make the same quilt one more time…
and come up with the idea of having buttons thrown out on a piece of cloth…
So I started to make buttons in different sizes…
And believe me…this was so much fun… the quilt came together very quickly!!

Used a ruler and maskingtape to get the lines straight for quilting…
The quilt have four different sizes from Giant to Mini buttons…
Think this is a lovely idea…
because now you can make so many different kind of things
with the buttons…pillows …wall hangings… And quilts of course… 😉

Couldn’t decide on thread color… but son said use the pink… thanks… 😉

Added some wavy lines…

Love the thread color…
I used solids for the buttons in lots of different reds, pinks, purple, orange and yellow…

DOTS!!

and of course I used low volume for background… 😉
but this time I used a white and black scale to keep it more graphic.

 Had a very good helper…NOT!!!

I really love how this quilt turned out…it’s such a colourful and happy quilt…

Ikea print for backing…
Have more photos to show…and I will also try and take a picture of it outside…
And I will also show pictures from class day…
And I am hoping that I can be able to share some finished quilts once they are finished…
I know some are!!
Some might have posted on Instagram using the hashtag

I have made tutorials… but not tried to make them into patterns...so I am a bit nervous!!!

And the good news… its free for you to download… Woot woot!! 😉

An idea came to me during a walk with my dog Molly

resulted in a quick and Modern Christmas wallhanging

oh it’s so great when creativity struck you!!

I hope you will like it as much as I do…

I was in need of some new wallhangings.. with a more modern look

and a colour change

so here you go…

Modern Christmas Tree

KqCwy6XphShpSjAg.jpg

Its made in mostly solids except for the baubles and the foot that have prints

I used a light to medium grey as background and made a white tree with pastel colored baubles…

(for those who remembers… I bought a white tree last year…

and I so love the light it gave.. and hopefully will give this year too… 😉 )

and I like a little bit of fun

so this tree is even on one side and a bit more playful on the other half..

Who has a perfect tree??

Well I don’t!!

J2ydJljzxapzf6Tf.jpg

think it adds playfulness to the tree… :)

and of course when I am about to quilt.. I just need to test out something new

so I quilted rows of stars… like a star garland

ohhh.. they are definitely not perfect… I call them playful as well … 😉

Learn while doing that’s my motto!

Added a white and light blue striped binding …loved the result of that!!

Perfect frame to the quilt!
