Loved the first issue of the Simply Moderne magazine that I bought 2015 in Birmingham, so I bought the second issue when it came out..only because of the front cover…because I knew that my daughter would love that quilt..it was even perfect with turquoise background ( her fav colour at the moment;) )

So when they moved to the house last year and she talked about making a special room for herself …a makeup and walk in closet room..I immediately thought of this quilt. But things got delayed for them and I had enough on my own plate. So the quilt was set on back burner…until this spring… when I asked Petra if she wanted a quilt for the room ( not at all obvious nowadays 😉 ) and when she said yes I told her I had a quilt in mind but wanted it to be a secret and asked what colours she preferred? And low and behold..she said PINK … huh… how did that happen?  :) But that suited me just fine..I was happy and obviously I had the right pink fabric for the background too…phew…

So the day of the horrible terror attack in Stockholm I started cutting to keep my mind of worrying over my brother and his family caught up in all that happening.

Tv was on the whole day…cutting like a fool…and thinking of my lovely daughter in her soon to be makeup room…

Say hello to Elsa… who had come to stay after Mums accident…and is now living with my daughter. She was supervising me in every little detail on this quilt… 😉 while Molly was snoring from the couch 😉 pattern was quite big so it needed to be worked with on the floor. Am starting to feel a bit old… 😉 phew

I decided to cut up my log cabins in quarters and puzzle the stag together …hate waste of fabric… 😉  Love that quote… think I need to work more with what I have …feel such a pleasure when I do just that.

I did my breaks…sun loving as I am after the winter… enjoyed “fika” in the old church town whenever we could! And went back working on the quilt. I decided on to straight stitch the stag down…to make it more modern…and I also know this quilt won’t need washing that often …

Excited…Molly…obviously not 😉

But I was…I decided to use three different variegated threads to give the quilt a bit of life. There were only little left on the spools so I spread the different threads evenly on the quilt, so it wouldn’t feel odd if the thread ran out…and I like the effect! Had my mum here with me and she reminded me not to sit too long… 😉 can easily happen when excited.

Spring got closer and the first flowers started to show, we found new places with flowers me and Molly… and the quilt had to be packed down…because of the move. Here is Molly in her new home that she adapted as hers at once…she even wanted to go to bed in the new flat while we were cleaning out the old one. That’s a good sign :)

Spring continued…my favourite trees started to bloom and I could sit out on my balcony sewing down all the wonderful beads that my lovely friend and clever idea hatcher sent to bling up the quilt! Of course it should have beads and sparkle when in a makeup room :) And this I knew would be loved by my daughter… so a gazillion of beads were added..at least until I had enough of them 😉

This will be it for tonight… next part will come soon… see you soon :)

Have enjoyed sewing two quilts for friends… started before Christmas…and even before that in mind…but you know how it is…life gets in between…so I am most happy to finally have these little quilts made…and also sent and received …?

The pattern is by Cheri Payne and it’s called Sisters Love… and that pattern were just right to use and make for my lovely friends  Louise and Shirley. They are both the sisters I didn’t get! ??

Shirley had to have a pink quilt and blue was an easy choice for Louise…?? Cheri’s patterns are fun, happy and gives you room for your own ideas to bloom. I like that… ? to stretch your creativity a bit.
Photos are taken in The Old Church town here in Öjebyn…a very lovely place…of course I did chose to take photos on one of the coldest days…? and somehow photos taken with my camera vanished up in cyber space..so I’m happy I took photos with my iPhone …phew… was in a hurry sending the quilts away…so they were on its way when I saw that there were no photos… ?

Details from Shirley’s quilt… cute girly blocks with our names stitched and improve pieced hearts…I did use my own hearts and not from Cheri’s pattern…

Love the spring flowers added… yay…spring is coming…I really love details like this…?

Did a free form baptist fan quilting…and I must say it’s a favourite of mine…really love the look, both modern and traditional…

And even better is that it’s a fun and easy quilting to make… really fun! Do try!

And a label of course… will be more of them in the future! Can’t get enough of them.

That was some pink love are you ready for the blue one!

Stitchery adds such a lovely detail to a quilt…and makes it so personal … ?

And a slightly different label..added French knots to this one…

More improve scrappy hearts … love these so much… so have made another quilt using these and will try to get it on paper and make a pattern… ?

Love adding little bits of unexpected pieces of fabrics ..like the pink fabric strip in the blue border…and the binding…

Happy for amazing  friends so that I get the opportunity to sew lovely quilts… makes my heart happy! Have missed sewing for friends and making gifts so this was pure joy from start to finish!

Thanks for being my friends Shirley and Louise… ??

Sometimes, you just get blown away by generosity…and that’s exactly what has happened to me… I am truly blessed with fantastic friends both at home and out in the world. And I have said it before…Life is a Patchwork of Friends… ❤️ and among quilters it’s all that and way more.

What started with a picture sent from one of my American friends …ended up with the most wonderful gift given to me… and I’m so so happy…because I’m not that fond of making bags and things like this…makes my head to knot itself!

So enjoy all these pictures!! ❤️❤️❤️

Isn’t this totally amazing… pretty pretty letters , made in my absolute favourite colours…and low volume goodness!

The letters are from a pattern by Diane Bohn and you can find it here… they are 3″tall. And paper pieced…☺️ not my favourite method…but my friend ensured me …that they aren’t that hard to make… do have the pattern myself ..maybe it’s time to start using it…

A Sewing case!! And the prettiest ever! And it’s all mine! ❤️ Do you think I made a happy little dance? It was almost a rave-party…

And the clever inside… see through vinyl pockets… ❤️ and turquoise/blue gorgeousness…and filled with the cutest little basket block, wonder tape..so I could try and sew a case of my own using this clever tape…and cute labels!

What case…what case I hear you ask… ☺️ and the case you can find for free HERE … isn’t that great!

And this is the fantastic outside of the case, with sewed little cute blocks… I’m so in love ❤️

Beautiful little blocks…  geese and nine patch… and the pretty pretty low volume fabric ❤️️

And a little pink star and some strawberry cake ☺️…love strawberries…❤️️

And this text… ❤️️ love it… be your own hero..and be a good friend…unwrap it with a grateful heart…( do you think I did that❤️️)  couldn’t be better… ❤️️ so much thought put into this.

And if  the case wasn’t enough…these beautifully colour coordinated fabrics came..a mix from stash and bought fabrics… I’m stunned and almost without words…needed a week to put all this into words… and make this blogpost.

I now see that I missed to take a photo of a pattern, an apron/tunic/dress she sent along ..remembering I had it pinned on Pinterest..I’m impressed… thankyou so much for all this my sweet friend… My friend wants to be anonymous but I do think her stuff need to be shared so we can be inspired by her lovely work… I hope you have enjoyed looking at this…

And this is the pic she sent me that started this off… eight gorgeous and beautiful cases…lots of prettiness! Isn’t it amazing!! It’s WOW!

Thankyou dear friend for all this! ❤️
