Took time out from blogging for a while…
celebrated Easter with family…
and cheered on my brothers with families climbing mountains with skis
My brother Gussar is doing this for the third time…
twice doing the Summer tops… all ten tops…
and now this year the winter tops...all ten
Last summer the whole family including baby Snöfrid was up on the tops…
and now all this have spread so my brother Anders with family went up on
four tops during Easter….
They had marvellous weather…
They went early in the mornings while the snow was hard…
and down hills when it had soften up a bit…
And me… Nah… Not a chance… Not just YET…. :)
It was a relaxed and lovely time spent with brothers and mom and dad…
Back home again … We came home to warm weather…
no snow…and signs of spring… Hallelujah!!
How I love SPRING!
And adding happiness to all this I have gotten two lovely packages from friends…
A happy little Easter package from Louise
with the most pretty and cute little Easter decorations…
The only one I put up this year… :)
And from Shirley
I got the most wonderful package of three oddsocks
She saw a photo on Instagram where I had odd socks on my feet
( always seem to wore one sock out…and not the other…so I mix and match…lol)
and thought of me…lovely colours …so now I have happy feet!!
On the sewing front…
I have dug out an oldie since 2008 that I’m appliqueing on right now…
trying to stay focused on that one…
Will show later…or check my Instagram feed... I post a little bit more often there…
And talking about oldies
This is a quilt it gave to my daughter Linda when she moved
and when she got her apartment now in April it now sits on her wall…
Think I made this one 1998… :)
It was supposed to have three Little minis hung from the line…
but I only made one… Wonder why… :)
Nice to have caught up a Little on my blog…
Now it’s time to read some blogs as well…
See you…

I got thumbs up from my daughter Petra and Jimmy

Have worked on a big big secret since New Year…

when they engaged a LOOOONG time ago, when I still sewed… :)
I promised them a quilt for their bed….
They wanted a quilt in black…and I just couldn't sew in black…

I just couldn't… But I started to collect fabrics…and patterns…
but nothing talked to me…
Suddenly…I changed plan..bought new fabrics..
and found the right pattern…and voila… :)
Now I can …yes I can sew in black…
( you all know I'm a pastel girl :)
And I didn't mind at all..I even had fun…
and I do love this quilt!!

Today I finished THE quilt…and I have delivered it…
IN TIME FOR VALENTINES DAY:)

and they were both very happy for it…
So I am sooo relieved…
You know how it is to sew for children that are very clear in their interior taste…

Now I can show it!!

It have been fully tested and approved by
quilt tester Molly!! :)

I have used a pattern from Cherri House Quilts
I loved sewing it…it went together superb…

Used black, medium grey and light grey solids…
and added some newsprint fabrics and other modern prints…
and for interest I added some turquoise fabrics…

Quilting …wanted to keep it simple so I just quilted straight lines
…but I used three different grey threads…
and that was a success …loved the look!

Quilting such a big quilt is a struggle,
even with straight line quilting…
I had divided the quilt in thirds
happy I did…was much easier!

Daughter wanted a quilt that was pretty
on the back as well so I designed a striped backside…
A challenge to keep it straight and to quilt it straight…
but I think I managed pretty well… :

Finished with a black and white striped fabric for binding…
Gave the quilt a modern and fresh look!

Best of all is …
That they loved it… :0)

Now I can plan something new…;)

My daughter Linda joined me in my sewing earlier this month…
It was fun being an instructor again…
She did good!! :)

She had found some Japanese fabrics when we sorted out my stash and wanted to make something with them…

So first up a mug rug for her friend…and maybe later she will sew one or two for herself…

A perfect little project to start with…

So happy to see my old fabrics turn into something… :)

Nice red quilting was added …

And voila… A lovely little mug rug was born!!

Well done Linda!

I am secretly sewing my days away with projects…
A lot of cutting have been done…
I filled up my waste bin!!
And that was ages since that happened!!

See you!
