Isn’t if fun when an idea just gets at you and you HAVE to do it…

Just because of three little words…
BUT FIRST TEA…
This quilt just was in my head one morning and I knew I had to make it for my
brother Anders when he turned 50…
One question I’m always asking myself…
why do ideas come when there is soooo little time left for a deadline???

So this quilt was done in just a few days…
It was so much fun just playing with my scraps and taking inspiration from
Tonya Riccucis book Word Play Quilts… Lovely book by the way!!
So out with the scraps and now some fun playing began…
Adding this and that to black strips and cut when it was needed…
FUN FUN FUN!

And smiling to myself when sewing…
Knowing my brother would smile seeing this one…
We both love tea… But HE LOVES TEA…and he KNOWS his tea…
The right minutes..the right temperature…the special blends…
different teacups…and teapots… Phew..
Tea is a way of living in my brothers life… Right Anders?
Quilted this with rectangles… No thinking here…Just did it!

So no wonder this one went together in no time!!
And I actually had some leftover time before the big party!!
No last sewing in the car…or loose ends to finish after the gift was received…
…but first TEA

We spent some lovely time with family and friends celebrating his birthday …
It was so nice to have us all together…with lovely food and laughter!
Family pictures taken from “granny’s house” and the evening…

Thank you brother for arranging this for us all…I had a lovely time..
hope you had too…and it was a pleasure making something for you!
Crappy picture …but in all excitement and the laughing it got blurry…
But I love seeing him smile…
See you... :)

Half ways into this little quilt along…
Next theme were to share a moment with me and my mom/dad

For some reason I always connect two colours
when thinking of my mother and my dad…
and those colours are blue and green
Not really sure what it stands for but I think it's
the love for the nature and all living things
My father have worked with the forest, and farming
My mother have always had a love for animals
so maybe it's one of the reasons…
also knowing that they do love those colours….

So what I did… Since we were to use two prints,
same hue but different tone..and scraps…
I found a blue green that had some small leaves on…
So it became a salut to all living things that we all hold very dear…
And a mix of blue and green… 😉
Block # 9
A moment with me and mom and dad…

And picture of my mom and my girls when little feeding a reindeer calf… :)

Block # 10
Were to share a moment with either kids/nieces/nephew/friends children…

And looking through the scrapbin…
I found a print with a bicycle on…
and this is definitely a moment I have both enjoyed and feared with all my kids…
to learn them to bike
All the laughter and all the crying and mending knees and elbows…
and to see the happiness when they bike on their own
that is happiness!!

Found some old photos from a biking trip we did with Petra and Linda
We biked around Siljan in Dalarna, Sweden
this was so much fun…both in sunshine and in pouring rain!!

And Viktor sure needed a little photo too…
didn't find one biking but bathing
and that sure is a lot of fun too… 😉

See you…

Took time out from blogging for a while…
celebrated Easter with family…
and cheered on my brothers with families climbing mountains with skis
My brother Gussar is doing this for the third time…
twice doing the Summer tops… all ten tops…
and now this year the winter tops...all ten
Last summer the whole family including baby Snöfrid was up on the tops…
and now all this have spread so my brother Anders with family went up on
four tops during Easter….
They had marvellous weather…
They went early in the mornings while the snow was hard…
and down hills when it had soften up a bit…
And me… Nah… Not a chance… Not just YET…. :)
It was a relaxed and lovely time spent with brothers and mom and dad…
Back home again … We came home to warm weather…
no snow…and signs of spring… Hallelujah!!
How I love SPRING!
And adding happiness to all this I have gotten two lovely packages from friends…
A happy little Easter package from Louise
with the most pretty and cute little Easter decorations…
The only one I put up this year… :)
And from Shirley
I got the most wonderful package of three oddsocks
She saw a photo on Instagram where I had odd socks on my feet
( always seem to wore one sock out…and not the other…so I mix and match…lol)
and thought of me…lovely colours …so now I have happy feet!!
On the sewing front…
I have dug out an oldie since 2008 that I’m appliqueing on right now…
trying to stay focused on that one…
Will show later…or check my Instagram feed... I post a little bit more often there…
And talking about oldies
This is a quilt it gave to my daughter Linda when she moved
and when she got her apartment now in April it now sits on her wall…
Think I made this one 1998… :)
It was supposed to have three Little minis hung from the line…
but I only made one… Wonder why… :)
Nice to have caught up a Little on my blog…
Now it’s time to read some blogs as well…
See you…
