Isn’t if fun when an idea just gets at you and you HAVE to do it…

Just because of three little words…
BUT FIRST TEA…
This quilt just was in my head one morning and I knew I had to make it for my
brother Anders when he turned 50…
One question I’m always asking myself…
why do ideas come when there is soooo little time left for a deadline???

So this quilt was done in just a few days…
It was so much fun just playing with my scraps and taking inspiration from
Tonya Riccucis book Word Play Quilts… Lovely book by the way!!
So out with the scraps and now some fun playing began…
Adding this and that to black strips and cut when it was needed…
FUN FUN FUN!

And smiling to myself when sewing…
Knowing my brother would smile seeing this one…
We both love tea… But HE LOVES TEA…and he KNOWS his tea…
The right minutes..the right temperature…the special blends…
different teacups…and teapots… Phew..
Tea is a way of living in my brothers life… Right Anders?
Quilted this with rectangles… No thinking here…Just did it!

So no wonder this one went together in no time!!
And I actually had some leftover time before the big party!!
No last sewing in the car…or loose ends to finish after the gift was received…
…but first TEA

We spent some lovely time with family and friends celebrating his birthday …
It was so nice to have us all together…with lovely food and laughter!
Family pictures taken from “granny’s house” and the evening…

Thank you brother for arranging this for us all…I had a lovely time..
hope you had too…and it was a pleasure making something for you!
Crappy picture …but in all excitement and the laughing it got blurry…
But I love seeing him smile…
See you... :)

  2. I think the look on your brother’s face says it all. Even with a blurred photo it is clear to see his smile and approval. X
